Subject: Your Illustrations
From: David Crohn

This may sound like an odd request, but I love the animal pictures on your books so much that I want to get a tattoo of one. Possibly a bird or a lion; I'm not sure. Is there any way to obtain some of these illustrations without just buying the books? I have no interest in computer programming and would have no use for a book on the subject. I would be willing to pay you for some of the illustrations, however.

Thanks,
David Crohn

Hi David,

Many of our animals are produced in-house and O'Reilly holds the copyright to those drawings. But a lot of our animal images are copyright-free illustrations and they're available through Dover Publications in a book called Animals: 1419 Copyright-Free Illustrations of Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish, Insects, and Other Invertebrates. It's a fun book to leaf through, and I'll bet you can find good material for a tattoo in there.
